New Design from Josephine Nathan

There seems to be a unique creativity with our top and up and coming Australian designers that is inspired by our extraordinary range of cultural influences.
In recent times the craft resurgence has played a big part in the look and styles we are seeing gracing our catwalks and fashion magazines.
The brand Cleckheaton asked designer Josephine Nathan of knitwear label, woolliwoolli, to create a signature piece for their knitting devotees to create this season. woolliwoolli retails in some of Melbourne’s top fashion boutiques, and in January 2005 in collaboration with Australian Wool Innovation Josephine exhibited her merino designs internationally for the first time at Hong Kong Fashion Week. Josephine’s love of wool and yarn, and her eye for colouring and mastery of technique made her the perfect choice to create the ideal pattern to kick off winter 2007 for knitters.
Josephine’s design (pictured) is a gorgeous charcoal shrug that was created to fit every woman and is so versatile that it will suit the most formal to casual situation. Using Cleckheaton Country Silk , an Australian wool/silk blend, makes this piece so lush and soft to touch. The pattern is very simple to knit even beginners can produce this unique designer garment.
